Hi Frank
Don't despair, Old Chum. We once had a cat who sustained an injury, not dissimilar to your own, at the hands (wheels?) of a Road Hog. His name was Charlie and he quickly made a full recovery although the surgeon decided to carry out a further procedure whilst he was under the anaesthetic, which left Charlie feeling a trifle confused. His sense of humour remained intact, though, and he continued to play tricks on his fellow-cats even before the fur had grown back over his scar. He was the only cat we have ever known who could raise or lower his eyebrows, simultaneously or independently, a la Roger Moore. One day, however, he departed to realms unknown from whence he has yet to return; but we know in our hearts he is still, like Scott Carey, OUT THERE. Will write again soon. Love,
Alwyn & Wendy xx
Frank says: I'm sure he is out there, watching
I saw an article in the Metro in Manchester and now I am hooked to your website. I have never been knocked over (thank god) being a dog I only go out on a lead, I'm not normally keen on cats as I am quite protective of my property but hate to hear about other animals being poorly. Cars drive too fast down my road and I fear for the cats in da hood. My owner helped a dog which had been left for dead once after being knocked over and he lived, so well done to those people who found Frank. More bum please, it's highly amusing! Beth (lazy terrier)
Frank says: More, bum? Ok. Your owner is very kind to help the dog
Hi Frank

My staff was telling me about your accident and your site yesterday and how active you were - jumping in and out of your hospital cage and posing for the cameras. She told me that you have slept all day today - I am glad that you have the time and proper place to recuperate. That's enough activity for a well kitty never mind one with a broken pelvis! Take as much time as you need to recover and keep ignoring the cameras - with staff, ignoring them just makes them want to please you all the more! I am sure that you won't let fame go to your head - and if there are starry thoughts beginning to enter your head just talk to an escapee from Big Brother - i am sure that they would be happy to give you some tips on handling fame. After all Craig, Helen and Brian did pretty well out of being in a cage for ten weeks....
Hi Frank

Do you have many toys to play with in your cage? I can't see any on the web cams. Maybe you could have a new toy each day, and then I could try to spot the 'toy of the day'?
I see that you do sleep alot. Hope you are out and about soon. At least your missing most of the nasty windy cold weather.

Dear Frank,
We found your web address and some information about your accident on the Smile internet bank site and we just had to see how you are doing.
We sadly had to have our 4 year old grey tabby (very much like you in colouring, but a little less white) put to sleep, following complete renal failure, a little over a month ago and the sight of you penned in a cage like he was really did bring a tear to my eye (Selina) - several in fact. But no more sad thoughts!
I will be watching and reading your progress with great interest.
So here's wishing you a speedy recovery and much love.
Selina and Michael.
PS Our 2 mogs Jasper and Carrotts send cat cuddles too.
Frank says: Sorry you were sad, I'll try to do something stupid later to make you smile

My name is Alice Gallagher. I am 3 and a half years old, I have beautifully kept black fur, and although modesty from telling you just how stunning a female I am, I haev to say that I am an absolute hit with the local tom cats in Bolton, Lancashire, and I think that speaks for yourself.
I saw your picture and was hoping we could meet up some time for a moggy gossip, and possibly a night on the tiles, who knows where it might lead?
Frank says: Sounds like a plan, can we go for a curry?

Hi Frank!
Sending you a big hug and hope you get well soon!
Hello Franky,
how are yu? Seeing your picture, I tought we *must* meet in time when you get better and can travel to Scotland. I am a tiny little Siamese cat and although I am another breed, my mum immediately dicovered similarities in our furr. Mine is also grey-blue, without the white but with the same stripy pattern on my tails (i. e. rings) as yourself. Allthough my dad keeps denying it as as a Siamese, I should not be striped any place, mum keeps counting 7 to 8 rings on it, depending on the light. They are not as obvious as yours and its also not as big. As I said, as an Oriental cat, I am tiny and delicate but my ears are huuge! I never grew into them!
Or do you fancy curvy women? Well, I`ve got a good match for you then, her name is Kitty and she is about your age - 4.5 years old. I hope ou do not mind her having allready had 4 babies but they are all grown up and left years ago. So they won`t really interfere. They are living in Germany, anyway. Kitti is a German cat who moved in here last year, so I am doing my best to find a loving new home for her as she is eating all my food and keeps chasing my sister and me. She is snow white and leaves her hair every where, and we all will get done for it when our humans see it. You write your hobby is eating? Well, I said she is a perfect match, did I? You should see how big a cat she is, snow white, yellow eyes and certainly streetwise. She could tell you a lot of tails about busy roads, tasty mice and fresh frog toys from her former home...
You won`t like my sister, will you? She is a Burmese you know, espresso black and not half as loud as I am. I like to scream, especially at night, but she just comes up into the bedroom and throws things off the table when she wants to wake our humans to give her a feed. The result is that we *all* will be locked out! Meooooow! I am so annoyed, but she is my sister and I grew up with her! So if you want her you are getting me as well and the white fattie can take over completely!
Well, now you ae spoiled for choice!
BTW,
comfortable life as a domestic cat in the future? It is so much safer you know?
Maybe, you want to write back when you have finally waken u there! Every time my humans are watching you, you are lying there, round like a fluffy ball and looking so peacfully that my mum nearly hears your deep breath.
I send you a purrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yours, Emmy the POOH

Dear Frank,
Last night I fell asleep when watching your webcam in front of my bosses PC. Here's some proof : http://www.appletree.be/oscar.jpg I am addicted to the wwcw ( ww cat web ) ever since I was 1 year old and learned that some mice were more then just a healthy snack.
My boss tried to replace his mouse by a trackball, but I soon figured that out as well.
If you want to catchat, lemme know will ya.

Hello again Frank,
We think the wallpaper is really cool, our mum has put it on to her computer and has been showing lots of people at the school where she works. Everyone says that you're a georgeous cat (well grey cats usually are if you don't mind me saying so) and you have cheered a lot of people up. My brother and I heard that you live in Cambridge and we have heard our humans saying that we are moving there soon. Can we come and visit you and bring a mouse or a frog (which do you prefer?). Hope you have had a sleepful day. Love and purrs. Nunc and Mag.
Frank says: Of course you can, a mouse might be better
Well Frank,
So you are learning escape techniques - and going to be in the Sunday papers. Perhaps you will be a Page 3 cat! Take care - keep up the recovery - I actually saw you move on Cam 3 - I have a horrid feeling the cam was poised over the litter box, but I'll try not to think too much about that!

Frank says: no it is not over the litter tray

Hi, Frank!
I'm a semiSIBERIAn cat, so I'm from Russia. I've red about you in our central newspaper. Wish you good health and spring spirit. Are you training in spring cat singing? Let's sing duets and call catgirls.
Sincerely Yours, Fiodor.
Get well soon.
Greetings from Stockholm/Sweden.
Hello Frank. I hope you are starting to feel like your old self again. I just heard of your ordeal today when I read about you in "Your Cat" magazine. My cat Spot has been involved in a road accident at least twice now - the first time he cracked his pelvis, damaged the ligaments in his back legs and damaged his tail. In the second accident he ruptured his diaphragm and suffered bruising to his chest and ribs. He has been left with a permanently bald rear end and he is a funny shape because of his damaged ribs, but I love him all the same.
We now live in a quieter area with less traffic so hopefully he will not get into trouble again.
Best wishes to Frank and his family and I hope you make a speedy recovery and get back to enjoying a normal life soon.
Purr, purr, miaow from Spot.
There was an article about Frank on the BBC News website yesterday 13/3/02, in the science/technology news section.

Hi Frank:
The same accident happened to me when I was a very young kitty. Thanks to my owner, I am doing fine and living to be an old cat. I did use up a few of my lives so you must be very careful from now on. I enjoy lying in the sun beams and follow them all around the house.
Take care and write if you can.
James
Our staff (cat's don't have owners, as you know) have enjoyed watching you, Frank, as you recover from your accident. They say your site is so soooothing in this crazy world where the news is full of reports of wars, murders and other horrors. It's good for them, Frank, to see how cats face life, i.e. with a little sleep, a little food, a little grooming, a little sleep, a little food......
Be patient Frank and you'll be out of your cage in time for the warm spring sunshine to help your recovery.
Me again. I forgot to give you a really fun radio station to listen to. It is in Freedom Calif and the site is KPIG.com It has great music and some good animal sounds too.

Hi I heard about your website a few days ago on BBC Radio 2 on Steve Wright in the afternoon why not let Frank listen to radio 2 tomorrow. I to have a cot called Chelsea and she is about 8 or 10 years not sure of her age I rescued her from the Cat Protection Legue about 21/2 years ago I have friends who have dogs and the dogs know that CHELSEA is the boss (lol) and the dogs know that when the cat is around SHE rules the roost.
Anyway I hope everything goes well with Frank the cat and he'll get out the hospital he'll get to play with all his favourite toys again.
Best Wishes

I was just about to ask when you get out of the cage, but then found out that you'll be stuck there for another 6 weeks Do you have any plans for your website after you get out? Get better soon, ok?
Maggie / Sweden
Frank says: Not sure yet, any ideas ?
Hi,
I'm just curious as to how much attention Frank's getting, he looks so lonely. Is he still on pain killers or something? He must be going insane cooped up all day and night. How old is Frank anyway?
I hope he recovers soon, as much as I like checking in on him - I feel sorry for him all alone in a cage.
xoxo
Bianca
Frank says: Read the site, all the info you want is there
Hi there Franky babes, how you doing. I have to say your looking better every day, its so nice to see you awake. Can you see me?
Frank says: err, no, sorry
My name is Bella and I am a Chocolate Oriental Spotted Tabby. I am not very well myself and am spending the night at my Vet as I have had to have lots of blood tests and x rays (what a pain) so they can find out why I am not very well. I hope you are feeling better soon Frank and when I am passing through Royston we could meet up and exchange hospital news!?! I live with my humans and my Mum who is called Holly in the countryside so fortunately we haven't had any encounters with cars. You will have to be more careful Frank. Get better soon. Lots of purrs from Bella
get well soon frank.
Well Frank - Get well soon! There are lots of mice You can "play with" waiting outside.
Hello Frank
We are watching you while our Mum works at her PC. She was telling us how poorly you've been so it's nice to see you playing with your toys! Our best toy is our English Setter puppy - Ali B, her batteries never run out. We hope you get on OK at your next vet visit.
Bye for now
Beavis, Butthead & CaseyLugs from Northampton
Good luck, Frank!
Best regards from Simon and Ronja, Sweden
Please get better soon. I haven't had an accident but I did get sprayed with pink dye once and had the indignity of going to the Vet to have it removed - with that awful stuff the humans use to get oil and dirt off their hands. I will think of you lots and so will my family.
Frank says: Pink ?
GET WELL, FRANK!!!! =)
GREETINGS FROM SWEDEN! =)
better a cat than some people.
good luck frank.
Frank says: hmmmm

Dear Frank, I have been watching you for a couple of days and you are a very pretty cat. Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations. You have inspired me to find a way to help my cat, Indiana Jones. He has a persistent infection and won't take his medicine. (He runs and hides and we can't be consistent in giving it to him.) Seeing you in your cozy cage has inspired us to find a cage for Indy for the week that he will need to get enough medicine in him to finally get him well. Thank you, Frank! Indy will be mad at you for a while, but when he starts to feel better he'll be grateful, I know. Laura in North Carolina, USA P.S. I listened to your radio station today and it didn't sound relaxing, but you were asleep so it must have been all right!
Good luck Frank....get well soon.
Ratbag & Scallywag send their purrs your way.
Love from New Zealand.
Poor Frank! How long have you been in the hospital? What are they doing for you----did you have surgery? How much longer? Best wishes and get well soon from two Florida cats.
Frankie, glad to see your progress. We are three Siamese cats called Smartie, Lila and Malteser and we aren't allowed by our humans to roam the countryside, and we DO live in the countryside, because of nasty cars and someone around here who takes pot shots with an airgun at our moggy relatives. Tell your owner that if he loves you enough, he will construct an outdoor run for you which allows you freedom, yet prevents you from the dangers of the road. My siblings, and humans Vic and Jen, are watching daily to check on your wellbeing. Keep safe and well.
Hi Frank
Sorry about your condition. I know how you feel because I got run over a few months ago. My owners got worried about me as I was scared and in hiding for four hours. I had a broken hip. However they patched me up and things got better. I am now catching mice and huge rats! Yum and what fun! I have a brother called Salem, and another adopted brother called Snowy. We are close.
I hope you get better so we can be catpals over the internet!
Miaow!

Frank says: Of course we can

Hi, Frank! I'm sorry to hear about your accident though you are so strong and lucky cat!!! I lost my dog as she was hit by a car. So please get well for you and everyone. And enjoy your life as more than my dog.
Hi! There This is your mate Brighton Boy from Hove again! Yes, mate I thought I would send you my daily little encouraging message. Right, now you have got to try the escape plan I suggested to you last time. OK! Then it will make the news again and will warm the heart of many felines out there. Keep your human on his toes! A bit of cage trashing, a bit of "pretend" pain, a bit of pathetic "meowing"!, that should do the trick!
Brighton Boy with you forever! Hove is the best!
PS: The human Beatrice is back tomorrow in Hove, I'm busy putting back everything together (She would have a fit if she knew I mess about with her PC). Tell your human I am still waiting for my photos to be posted (Just to show you that a 15 years old diabetic, toothless and tailess cat like me can still look very handsome!)
Frank says: Yes I've been nagging about the photos, hopefully they'll get on with it soon. I did the pathetic meowing yesterday and got a new mouse :-)
Hello Frank!
We are a cat-gang from Sweden, and we want to send you Good Luck-greetings and we hope you get well soon!

Hi Frank
Here's a get well wish from Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. A friend gave me your web address. I am so sorry you have had to go through so much, but you are obviously being well looked after and hopefully you wil soon be running around again.
Summer's coming!
Frankie, me oul' mate,
You got the names of the "gang of four" a bit mixed up, but not to worry, when you are a world star this is normal. I can't wait to get our agency started. Rumour has it that you wouldn't be up to much more than the paper work, but that's o.k., Mangy Stinky has shown me the ropes and I'm only too happy to do your bit as well as mine. Only I'm NOT marrying that Irene one. Herself (TOWAM) has suggested that I mention, just in passing, that if any of those cats who want to improve their English so that they can write to you REALLY WELL IN ENGLISH should contact her website at www.active-english.com and they can come to a really nice English School in Dublin and they could learn all kinds of things like how to make cat jokes, etc. She said she would look after them really well. Personally, I think it's a bit of a cheek, but then, Friday night is fast approaching and I have to earn my place on the duvet. I have to tell you Frank, today she had a meeting with two Chinese gentlemen that she really wanted to impress and wondered why they kept looking over her shoulder in a bemused kind of way. Frank, can you believe, they were staring at the wallpaper on her computer - YOU!!! It's one thing her family thinking she's mad, but this, WELLL!!!
By the way, your cage is a bit yukky tonight, what IS that weird long green things beside you???? She is going away for a few days and taking her laptop wo I won't be able to write for a few days! Oh, Frank how will you live without me?? Sweet dreams, pal, think of that knighthood you will surely get in the next List!!! Sir Frank, goodnight, Korky
Frank says: Long Green think?? I'm not sure maybe its my new mouse?? Don;t worry just write me a long message when you get back online.
Hey Frank,
We are two brothers (black and white, long hair)who in live Auckland, New Zealand. Our mum read about your unfortunate accident in the New Zealand Herald. We've all checked out your website - what a fab idea.
Anyway, take care Frank, you'll be back on your paws in no time. I'll (Syd) catch a rat for you tonight. Have to go now - my brother (Max) sends his best purr to you. (He's not very good on the keyboard - his paws are too big).
Our mum send her best wishes as well.
Syd and Max
Last word on Frank on the Wed. 13th news: "I've just checked in on him and he seems to be suffering no ill effects after his mad scamper so hopefully it will not affect his recovery." ..what a cliffhanger! It is 22:40 by the clock on the kittycam; there is no update to the FrankNews, and I am hanging on tenterhooks to know what happens to Frank next! Please let us know if he is OK. Darling Frank, I hope you recover with a vengeance. :) Best of luck & love from Bridget in Montreal, Canada.
Frank says: He's fine :-))
Hi Frank,
We're blitz and midnight and we live in the Yukon, Canada.
It's firghtfully cold here [-30], so we don't go outside, instead we surf the net and check on your progress a few times a day.
We were sorry to hear about your accident and hope you aren't in too much pain. Your family cares about you so much and are very ingenious in keeping the world appraised of your progress.
Hope to see you hopping around in your cage soon!
Cheers,
blitz [2 year-old calico] and midnight [5 year-old hairy behemoth!].
Frank says: -30 ??
Dear Frank,
Hope you're starting to feel a bit better now that the vet has fixed you up.
What time do you get your meals in there?
Are you allowed sweetie treats?
Have you had any visitors in to pet you and stroke your lovely coat? Love and kisses, Kat xx
Hiya Frank+owner
I hope you get well soon. I read about you in a Swedish newspaper today. You seem to have a very caring owner. My two cats say's hello and the wish you'll get better soon. (as long as you're not coming over and eat our food, he he)
Love Malou

hey frank can i recommend to you that you tell your nice owners to get you a mouse on a fishing rod when you get out. They're quality lots of savaging!!! just what you need to get you back in shape!!!
Wishing you a speedy recovery, then you can carry on chasing meecies, and being the boss of the house again Purr Purr Pollycat and Ambercat in Manchester.
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia again, Franklet!
At the moment, you're asleep (which is good, because sleep is the best medicine!), but when you wake up, if you happen to come across a message (and a prezzie in the mail!) from a very nice lady called "Gabrielle" (I think!), could you please ask her to re-send the email she sent me this morning because I accidentally bounced it (stupid me, I wasn't watching what I was doing (as usual!))
Is that a new blue mouse you have with you? Hope it's a catnip one, though I have to confess that my cats aren't all that impressed with catnip mice, they prefer a bunch of feathers tied onto a string. Or milk bottle tops.
Sleep tight, little Franklet, and sweet dreams of plump mice!
Gabrielle, if you're reading this, apologies for accidentally bouncing your email! Please resend, if possible!

Dear Frank,
just to say that the whole family (1 cat ME Basil, 11 hamsters and two humans) are still keeping an eye on how things are going for you. we all think its great that you've had such a HUGE response and really hope your recovery is quick and easy.
Even tho my broken leg mended, i caught FCV whilst i was abandoned and so i am ill a lot and could die of this one day. My mum says that if she got hold of the person who threw me out she'd do unprintable things to them!!!
Hang in there - is there anything that all us viewers could do to REALLY help you Frank and your fellow pusses? Im sure that this would be a great opportunity to get all these cat lovers acting on their sentiments.
love to you dear Puss,
Basil, Honey, squeak, tiny, Hat-hair, Derek, clive, Parma, violet, Truffle-pig, Toffs and Nougy. OH and the humans LIZ & DAVE XXXXXXXXXXXXX
How sweet Frank is!!!
Hope you get better soon.
Many kisses from Rita and Marcello.

Hi Frank, get well soon! I'm Buster, a cat living in Maryland, in the US of A! I enjoy darting into Sarah's house so that she'll feed me! I actually live next door, but I like Sarah better. Sarah is SOOO wonderful! (Wonder who's translating for me?) Sarah wishes she could have a domain name for me, but she just has a site on Tripod. :(
Love ya,
Buster!
